Twelve unemployed persons successfully completed professional butchery training in the company "Mesopromet" in Bijelo Polje, ten of whom were employed, with the support of the Kingdom of Norway through the project "Norway for You - Montenegro".

This company conducted a vocational training project worth a total of USD 21,000, during which the participants had a four-month training composed of theoretical and practical parts. After that, all participants took the tests in front of a three-member commission and obtained a certificate of completed training for a butcher.

"Through this project, we trained staff who are in deficit, and highly needed by the Montenegrin labor market, due to several meat industries that work here. With the training, we have created professional and qualified butchers, to whom this will also be important with later employment", “Mesopromet" Project Associate Ervin Alić said.

After successfully completing the training, ten unemployed persons got jobs, which directly reduced the unemployment in Bijelo Polje.

"Thanks to the Kingdom of Norway and the company "Mesopromet", I successfully completed the training, and this project gave me the opportunity to get a new job," said Mirela Muradbašić, who was employed after completing the training.

The objective of the Public Call within the project "Norway for you - Montenegro" was to contribute to the employment of vulnerable groups in lesser developed areas of Montenegro through vocational training for at least 60 unemployed people and the employment of at least 30 participants.

"With the support of the Kingdom of Norway, this component referred to the successful additional qualification and retraining of unemployed persons. This was a good example of cooperation during which companies had the opportunity to conduct training accoding to their methodology and hire new workers for their needs," the “Norway for You - Montenegro" Project Manager Armen Čekić said.
