Enhanced Woodworking in Plav with Norwegian Support

The objective of this project is to improve the internal capacities of the Association of Woodworkers, which will significantly increase the production of small companies in Plav.

The Kingdom of Norway, through the project "Norway for you - Montenegro", supports the project "Strengthening internal capacities and modernization of the carpentry line" implemented by the Association of Woodworkers and the Municipality of Plav. The objective of this project is to improve the internal capacities of this association, which will significantly increase the production of small companies in Plav.

"Through the project, we procured a gasket, formatter, CNC and lock machines, which are used for final wood processing, facilitate production and raise the quality of the final product, which will significantly improve our business. The needs of customers are changing and becoming more demanding, and we have to follow that with the modernization of carpentry lines so that we can respond to market challenges," said Esad Barjaktarevic, from the Plav company "Kriva Breza ", a member of the Association of Woodworkers.

The production-plant was visited by 14 young associates from wood processing and future wood processors, which enabled them to gain insight into the entire production process - from the brent where the shape is cut to the assembly and painting of the final product.

"We function as an association of small companies and farms with the aim of overcoming obstacles that affect our business. Thanks to the support of the Kingdom of Norway, through this project, we have procured four modern machines that will significantly facilitate the work of cluster members. The presentation of the plant was the last activity with which we wanted to share our experiences with our young associates in wood processing and to interest them in this branch of industry. Wood processing in Plav has potential, and we have experience and support from the Government, the Municipality and other institutions", said the authorized representative of the Association of Woodworkers, Nedžad Cecunjanin.

The Kingdom of Norway is funding this project with about USD 22,000, while wood processors and the Municipality of Plav are participating with about USD 2,000.
