For development of local infrastructure in Montenegro 250,000 Euros from the Kingdom of Norway

The Kingdom of Norway will fund with 250,000 Euros improvement of infrastructure in 16 local governments through a public call for proposals within “Norway for You – Montenegro“. By 20 January 2020, municipalities can submit proposals for grants, up to a maximum of 30,000 Euros for projects in a single municipality or up to 50,000 Euros for inter-municipal projects.

The main objective of this public call is to contribute to strengthening of social inclusion through the improvement of public infrastructure in less developed municipalities of Montenegro. Activities may include construction, reconstruction or renovation; while priority areas include water and waste management, energy efficiency in public buildings, facilities that contribute to tourism and economic potential, as well as educational, sports and cultural infrastructure.

The project is divided into two parties, and local self-governments can apply on their own or in partnership with their institutions or other municipalities. All municipalities eligible for the grant will have to contribute financially to 10 percent of the total eligible project costs. On the project website www.norveskazavas.me, all the detailed criteria with the application documents are published. Information session where all interested parties will be able to get the clarification and detailed information will be held in Podgorica, on Friday, 6 December 2019 (exact time and venue will be announced later).

The "Norway for you - Montenegro" project aims to contribute to the balanced socio-economic development of Montenegro, through increasing employment opportunities, supporting social cohesion and improving local infrastructure in less developed municipalities of Montenegro. The project is funded by the Kingdom of Norway with EUR 1.4 million, and field activities are carried out by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
